Now that they were geared up and ready to go, it was time for their ceremony and wedding reception in Shaker Heights. Leading up to this day, I saw snippets of the construction of the main focal point of the wedding ceremony. The main focal point of the whole space, really, besides Andy and Robin’s gorgeous home. The wedding arbor. Jim’s Company, Karlovec & Company, has been doing work on Robin and Andy’s home. During that work, they removed some trees. Those trees became the material for the arbor. Keeping things natural and organic. Even the ceremony podium was a log. This was the true meaning of the term “green wedding”.
The ceremony was beautiful. Words written by famous authors for the world. Words written by Dana and Jim for each other. And the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. From a wedding photographer standpoint, I had the ideal environment for documenting a historical event.
Like the rest of the day, the reception was very fluid. Cutting of the cake. A quick “first dance”. A couple of speeches. These were the few things that could be defined as wedding traditions. But they happened as they happened. This was a very casual wedding reception. All and all it was a great day.
Congratulations to Jim and Dana. I want to thank them for entrusting me to document their wedding day. Here are a few favorites from the rest of their day.
