It was a rainy day for Mike and Jo’s wedding at Stan Hywet. But that didn’t stop them. Jo’s dream has always been to have her wedding on the terrace of Stan Hywet. So when that time came, the ceremony took place right where she dreamed.
Popular Location in Akron
Stan Hywet is a popular location in Akron for weddings. It’s one of my top locations for wedding ceremonies. So picturesque, it really is no wonder. Built between 1912 and 1915 by F.A. Seiberling, one of the founders of Goodyear Tire and Rubber, it has become a historical landmark (Akron’s first and largest, as a matter of fact).
Rainy Wedding Ceremony at Stan Hywet
It didn’t rain all day. It was on and off, but it did give us the opportunity for great and dramatic wedding pictures. However, right in the middle of the ceremony, the skies opened up. Jo and Mike were prepared, handing out umbrella’s to all the guests. Me on the other hand…I got a little wet. But it was so worth it. It didn’t bother them in the least. Rain on your wedding day, really, is an opportunity. Had it not rained on this day, the wedding pictures would be a lot different.
When the rain was coming down in the middle of the wedding ceremony, they could care less. This is really what a wedding day is all about. Not sweating the small stuff. Jo had waited her whole life to have her wedding at Stan Hywet and by goodness she did and it was awesome.
Mike and Jo booked me for their wedding two years in advance. This means a lot to me. It’s great that clients know exactly what they want for their wedding day, and do what they have to to make it happen. And they were SO awesome throughout the process. Truly, the ideal clients.
