It was HOT for Tony and Sandra’s engagement pictures at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Nice and sunny, which I love for my photographs, but HOT (all caps!!). Our main goal was to use Cleveland as our photo backdrop and also get some pictures at night. I don’t see a lot of night pictures in Cleveland, so I always encourage my clients to do this and get excited when they choose to do so.
Pictures at the Rock Hall in Cleveland
This past Thursday, I attended a networking event held at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Being a lifetime resident, I had never toured the facility (I know. I know). Needless to say, it was cool and inspiring. As I was mingling in the courtyard with the other folks, I realized that Sandra and Tony’s engagement session would be at the exact same time in 3 days. The light hitting the Rock Hall got me excited as all quality light does. So I thought it would be great to start their session there. I LOVE using direct sunlight in my photography and chase it as much as I can. The challenge with it I’ve noted -HERE-.
Sandra mentioned that she was nervous as we started the session. This is normal and happens to every single one of my clients to one degree or another. It’s a good thing because, if your nervous, it means that you care. Also, I love seeing the transformation from nervous photo subject to rocking’ photo model within a few hours. That was Sandra and Tony. They were so good at being “with” each other in the photos. It’s clear that Tony helps Sandra relax and keeps her smiling. They were SO great, especially considering my challenging approach and the weather.
They will be having their wedding in Mayfield Heights next year and their wedding reception at La Malfa. I am really looking forward to their big day. Here are a few of my favorite engagement pictures at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and on Cleveland’s East 4th Street.
