I was very much looking forward to Nick and Sam’s wedding day at Prestwick Country Club. Sam’s sister, Kim (hi, Kim!) was one of my photo assistants in the past and I was really excited when she contacted me about documenting Sam’s wedding. I hadn’t shot a wedding at Prestwick in a while so I was anticipating the day.
Prestwick Wedding Day
Prestwick Country Club has been around a while. 53 years to be exact. So there is a lot of history within the space. Sam and her ladies prepared for the day in the ladies locker room which, really, is more than a locker room. They had their own room for wedding day hair and make-up within the locker room. Nick and his groomsmen got ready in the men’s locker room which was more like a lounge. Great spaces for wedding pictures. It was really cold and windy outside so our opportunities for pictures outside were limited. The groomspeople were true champs. Especially Nick’s sister, Gabrielle, as you can see in the picture below.
Wedding Day First Look
Nick, Sam, and I had an in depth conversation about whether or not they should have a first look. It was decided to do one. This time of year, it gets dark early. They would have had no time at all to get pictures using the natural daylight. So they had a first look. We still did it inside because of the weather but it was a good decision. It gave us a little more time for creative pictures. Here are just a few favorites from the beginning of their wedding day at Prestwick Country Club.
