When I started toward my wedding day at O’Neil House in Akron, Ohio, I knew Reid and Michelle’s day would be terrific. They were supposed to get married in 2020 but then…well…we all know what happened in 2020. So this was a much anticipated day. The extra effort and planning paid off, for sure.
Wedding Starts at O’Neil House Akron
Michelle and her bridesmaids started bright and early at O’Neil House in Akron. I LOVE O’Neil house. Not only for its beauty, but it’s ideal for my style of photography. Michelle and her ladies had hair and make-up done together in the Garden Room, which is a large room east of the living room, which allowed all of them to congregate there. It also allowed for four stylist to work in unison, which provides maximum efficiency. For pictures, this opens up more possibilities for great candids, since there is so much interaction going on.
Reid started his day at the hotel. For the groom, the day is much less complicated and there are fewer details to consume the morning. Because my minimum photography coverage always includes all day coverage with two photographers, my assistant was able to document Reid’s morning while I concentrated on the bride.
Wedding Ceremony at The Chapel in Akron
The Chapel in Akron has been a downtown Akron staple for decades. It is located in the heart of downtown Akron and The University of Akron. The ceremony went wonderfully. Commenced by a string trio (technically speaking) and two adorable ring bearers, the brides father beamed with pride as he walked Michelle down the aisle.
Here are a few of my favorites pictures from the beginning of their day. My next post will be wedding pictures at the Akron Zoo, more at the O’Neil house and their perfect wedding reception at Firestone Country Club.
