The last wedding ceremony at Stan Hywet that I photographed it rained like crazy. For Joey and Cory’s wedding yesterday, it looked like it would be history repeating itself. However, the day turned perfectly. The rain stopped in time for the wedding ceremony, and we were able to get great pictures around Stan Hywet.
Starting Wedding Day At Courtyard at Marriott in Akron, Ohio
Cory and Joey started their day together at the Courtyard at Marriott in Akron, Ohio. Having the grooms start the day together eliminates a layer of stress that is prevalent at all weddings. The anticipation of seeing each other on the wedding day, naturally, creates stress. By starting the day together removes this stress. Their bridal party was with them, as well. For a wedding photographer, this presents me with a lot of opportunity for great wedding candids. Joey and Cory were so laid back, this made it even easier for great pictures.
Stan Hywet Wedding Ceremony
When the grooms were ready it was off to their wedding ceremony at Stan Hywet. We did a few creative wedding pictures before the ceremony but decided to save the majority of those for afterwards. The ceremony was perfect. Gorgeous flowers by The Red Twig decorated the overlook at the end of Birch Allee. Having the bridal party and grooms walk down Birch Allee was so dramatic. And saying their vows in front of the fountain. Just fantastic.
