Beth and Chris had their wedding and wedding reception at Mayfield Country Club. Mayfield Country Club is a beautiful wedding reception venue in the Cleveland area. It is the perfect combination of the elegant and the pastoral. And that is exactly what Chris and Beth planned. In every wedding detail you could see this combination. After their engagement session in Chagrin Falls, I was excited for their wedding day.
Elegant Wedding Ceremony Location
Both Beth and Chris prepared for their wedding day right at Mayfield. This was an excellent decision. They didn’t have to leave Mayfield at all. Beth had her wedding day hair and make-up done there. They both dressed there. Complete convenience. It was also great for wedding pictures. Mayfield is beautiful throughout so it made for an excellent backdrop for wedding images. A lot of laughs on this day. The closeness of each family was evident and my goal was to capture that.
The wedding ceremony took place on the patio. A nice breeze blew the beautiful floral arrangement that adorned the beautiful trellis. Afterward we did some creative wedding pictures throughout the grounds on Mayfield until it was time for the reception.

As I mentioned, Beth and Chris had the perfect combination of elegance and pastoral. Fresh flowers were the centerpiece of each table. A fresh cut tree trunk slice was the cake platform. One of the nice things that they did was, after dinner, they moved the party outside onto the patio. This gave the reception the variety that was evident in all of their wedding details.
Creative Wedding Picture
Although I love doing photojournalistic images at weddings, I always take some time for creative or “posed” pictures. One that I wanted to do here was a sparkler picture. I would drag the shutter, or keep the shutter open for an extended period of time. Then someone, in this case a wedding guest, would quickly circle the bride and groom while holding a lit sparkler. I think it turned out well and it’s always fun to create something unique for my wedding couples.
I want to thank Chris and Beth for being so great to work with in what was quite a hectic day. Their families and wedding party were fantastic, as well. The staff at the Mayfield Country Club were top notch. Here are some of my favorites from the day.
