In a wedding day flashback**, I think about how traveling across country to Brandon and Rachelle’s wedding day in Scottsdale Arizona in mid-march would have seemed to have been the dream destination wedding for this Cleveland wedding photographer. It’s wet and cold in Cleveland. Spring in Scottsdale would be the perfect combination of mild temperatures and sun, right?
Cold Day for a Wedding in Scottsdale
As it turned out, it was one of the coldest days in recent memory in Scottsdale. Cold and rainy. THE WHOLE TIME! This would seem to put a damper on their wedding day (no pun intended). However, it did just the opposite. It created a dramatic backdrop for a wedding day, the planning of which, started in Cleveland, Ohio.
Brandon and Rachelle were living in Cleveland when they contacted me about doing engagement pictures in downtown Cleveland. When I met them, and did their engagement photos, I knew that I had to document their their wedding day. They were apprehensive since they would have to fly me across country to Scottsdale. But we worked it out and they were able to book me for their wedding.
Wedding at Troon North Golf Club
Their entire wedding day in Scottsdale Arizona took place at Troon North Golf Club. Brandon and Rachelle both prepared for the day right at the club. This was very convenient for them. And, considering the weather, it made it much easier logistically. There were a couple of roads leading to Troon North that were flooded. Troon North is a beautiful location for a wedding. With the overcast clouds, it made for a very photogenic backdrop.
They weather was chilly throughout the day but the rain held off for the wedding ceremony.
Here are a few pictures from the beginning of the wedding day in Scottsdale Arizona, up to the end of the ceremony.
