It was a cold day for their wedding at Parkside Church Westside in Lakewood, Ohio. And when I showed up to start documenting her day, the power was out at Emily’s sister’s house, where Emily would be getting ready for her wedding day.
Wedding Prep in Rocky River
The brief power outage didn’t deter anyone. Emily was in good spirits as was all of her bridesmaids and family. Emily and Justin both were able to spend their pre-wedding ceremony time with their families. Emily at her sister’s, as mentioned, and Justin prepared for his day at Parkside Church.

With all her bridal party and family with her, there was a lot of interaction in the morning. This is conducive to my style of photography. I love doing creative photos but I really love capturing great moments as they are happening. After Emily was ready, and after some creative and family pictures of Justin at the church, it was time for their wedding ceremony.
Wedding Ceremony at Parkside Church
The wedding ceremony was beautiful. After some important family pictures, post ceremony, we were off to the wedding reception at Ariel Pearl Center in Cleveland. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the first half of the day.
