Mike and Kelly had their wedding and reception at Tangier Akron. Tangier is on the best wedding reception venues in Akron, in my opinion. It is SO different and unique. Built in the 1950’s and owned by the same folks the entire time, the whole space still has the 1950’s nightclub vibe and I absolutely love it. Right out of “Mad Men”, so I was excited for this wedding day.
Wedding Prep in Akron
Mike and Kelly started their day at the Holiday Inn in Akron. This was a great decision as it made it convenient for them both and for their wedding pictures. We used the hotel and the lobby area for pictures before the ceremony and then we headed to Akron and Tangier.
We did some creative wedding pictures at Tangier before the ceremony. I’m glad that we did this since we were able to spend extra time with Mike and Kelly. Seeing each other before the ceremony opens up your timeline and makes your day a bit easier. I discuss wedding day timeline here
Wedding Ceremony at Tangier
Mike and Kelly had their wedding ceremony in the wine room in Tangier. In the lower level, the wine room is a small intimate spot for a wedding. Nice and cool with low light, the ceremony was very romantic for the bride and groom. Afterward, we took the wedding party outside and did creative pictures around the outside of the venue.
Wedding Reception at Tangier
Mike and Kelly had a dramatic entrance to their reception and from that point on it was a party. The staff at Tangier, as always, did a fantastic job taking care of the wedding party and guests.
