We decided to do Derek’s senior pictures in Cleveland. I did his sister, Alexia’s senior pictures four years ago, and I am anticipating doing his other sister, Kendal’s Senior Portraits when her time comes. That was and epic session in which I was able to get some great pictures (see one here) so the bar was high for Derek’s pictures.
When I spoke with his mom, we initially decided to start with images in a park. Wade Oval Park is beautiful, especially this time of year, so we met there. We were discussing Alexia’s pictures and it brought to mind a popular spot for industrial pictures in Cleveland in an old, abandoned warehouse. So we went there. One challenge was to get some images that reflect one of Derek’s big interests which is snowboarding. But we didn’t have snow. So we improvised.
We finished up in downtown Cleveland. We went straight to East Fourth Street, which is one of the most popular locations in Cleveland for pictures. We had already had a lengthy session so we had to pick one spot and that was it. A favorite location for me lately is The Corner Alley. There is one corner in there that I love.
Derek was great and didn’t complain at all during such a long session. I want to thank his mom, Gina, for being helpful throughout. Here are a few of my favorites from his senior pictures in Cleveland.
