Senior pictures at Squire’s Castle is always popular. Squire’s Castle is the site of the unfinished home of Standard Oil executive Feargus B. Squire. The “castle” is actually the shell of the servants quarters ( I would have LOVED to have seen the finished main home). It is now part of the Cleveland MetroParks system.
Aurora and Mikala are sisters that are in the same class. They wanted their senior pictures done together and wanted them done at Squire’s Castle. We met in the parking lot and made our way up the walkway to the castle. It was a chilly day with just a bit of rain. The canopy of the trees kept us dry and we used that as our backdrop for the initial pictures. We still wanted to use the mist for some creative senior pictures.
When doing pictures at Squires Castle the goal is usually to incorporate the “castle” structure itself. And we did that the majority of the time. Right in the middle of the Cleveland Metroparks, the brick and mortar structure is a stark contrast to the lush trees that surround it. The large open field in the front offers a lot of opportunities to use both the park and the castle.
Again, it was a rainy day with mist falling and offering me a chance to some cool senior pictures. The structure provided a little shelter but it didn’t rain that hard anyway.
Here are just a few of my favorite from their senior pictures at Squire’s Castle.
