When I say that Scott and Ally had a Northeast Ohio wedding, that is truly what they had. Scott prepared for the day at the Metropolitan at the 9 hotel in downtown Cleveland where he and his groomsmen stayed the night before. Ally prepared at her mother’s home in Twinsburg, Ohio. And their wedding ceremony was at St. Barnabas in Northfield Ohio. AND we ended up doing post ceremony wedding pictures at House of Blues Cleveland, where their wedding reception was being held (Whew!).
Very careful wedding planning and logistics were essential when the bride and groom have such distance between them on the wedding day. A second photographer is also a necessity, since I can’t be in two places at once. That is why my wedding coverage always includes two photographers, me and my assistant.
I loved the unique opportunity and the challenge of having the Scott and the groomsmen get ready for the wedding at the Metropolitan at the 9. Specifically, they were in the Vault, which was even more unique and more challenging. The lighting in the Vault at the Metropolitan contains a ton of contrast. I do love this type of situation but it did take some skill. I absolutely love the pictures that we created there.
Ally’s wedding morning couldn’t have been more different. As I mentioned, she prepped at her mom’s house. This was great for her because she was very comfortable there. It made it convenient since she stay there. I am so happy with how Ally’s pictures contrast with Scott’s. Such a dynamic wedding day creates great pictures which will make for an outstanding wedding album.
The wedding ceremony at St. Barnabas was beautiful and was very smooth. Afterwards, we did some creative wedding pictures in the church and then some very basic but important family pictures. It was then onto the House of Blues Cleveland. We did some pictures in the Foundation Room before heading down to their wedding reception.
