Immediately after their first look, and before their Greystone Hall wedding reception, it was time for the wedding ceremony. It took place at St. Barnabus in Northfield, OH. The deacon for the ceremony was a family friend, This was nice in that he was able to better connect with Drew and Jackie which made for a more intimate wedding ceremony.
Creative Wedding Pictures in Akron
As I mentioned in my previous blog post, Jackie and Drew had to check in to The O’Neil House after their ceremony. They would be spending their wedding night there so, since they had to check in anyway, we decided to do pictures there. It was raining so it was a perfect place to do creative wedding pictures indoors. Even if the weather had been perfect, The O’Neil House is just gorgeous and a great spot for wedding day pictures in Akron. I never let adverse weather affect wedding day coverage. I always look at rain as an opportunity for unique pictures. But, again, we couldn’t pass up doing pictures in the house.
As happens on wedding days, things got a little behind and we ended up having only, literally, 15 minutes to get pictures in the house. The O’Neil House had another event scheduled so the it was a firm deadline. We did the best that we could and I am extremely happy with the results.
Wedding Pictures in downtown Akron
After The O’Neil House, we decided to head into downtown Akron to Baxter’s, a bar right in downtown. Another great location for wedding pictures in Akron. I love Baxter’s for a lot of reasons. First, it is a beautiful little bar. It has interesting light and textures. I’ve used it many times for pictures. Secondly, they are always very nice and accommodating so it seemed the best place to get some wedding pictures, get everyone out of the rain, and allow them to relax and have a drink. It also offered me an opportunity to get some candid wedding day images.
Wedding Reception at Greystone Hall
Finally, we ended up at Drew and Jackie’s wedding reception at Greystone Hall. Greystone is on my list of favorite wedding reception venues in Akron. It is SO unique and beautiful. It is well run and the staff is always so great with my clients. Definitely one of the best reception facilities in Akron. Bill, of Beach Boyz Entertainment, was the MC for the evening and did a fabulous job, as always. Super nice guy and a great MC.
I want to thank Jackie and Drew for allowing me to document their wedding day. They were so relaxed and easy to work with throughout the whole process. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the rest of their wedding day including their Greystone Hall wedding reception.
