Yesterday I met with Ryan and Karen for their engagement pictures at Hale Farm and Village. This was the first time meeting them face to face. They booked me for their wedding and reception at Firestone Country Club next year and an engagement session is part of that service. For my style of photography, getting your pictures taken while JUST meeting me is a challenging thing. Trying to act lovely dovey in front of a stranger WHILE they take your pictures is not easy. I know it was when Marie and I had ours done and I had been a professional photographer for over 14 years at that point! But Ryan and Karen did great.
It was very dreary and cloudy so the challenge was to get intimate pictures of them while finding quality light. We had to use our off camera flash a bit more than usual but that turned out to be a good thing. We ended the session by plugging some old school Christmas lights into their vehicle for power and getting some pictures right in front of them. By the end of the evening, Karen and Ryan were ready and prepared for their wedding day. I will be looking forward to that.
Here are a few of my favorites from their engagement session at Hale Farm and Village.
