I met the Nelson’s for their family portraits in Wade Oval Park. Kristina was the recipient of a complimentary photo session and she JUST had a baby so the timing was perfect.
In general, I want the family pictures that I take to be more than normal. More artistic than your typical “family portrait”. I still do a few straight forward images, by I really do strive to create something unique. A picture that folks can’t get anywhere else. Something that they can hang on their wall as a piece of artwork. You wouldn’t think of a family portrait in those terms and that is exactly what motivates me to create something different.
The day was overcast and we had met late in the afternoon. The light was subtle, but it was still there to be had. We walked around the east side of Wade Oval Lagoon and found some great spots of light, and some color for textures for the background.
