I met Rob and Lisa for their engagement pictures in downtown Cleveland. In particular, we did most of the pictures on East Fourth street. East 4th is one of my favorite locations for pictures in Cleveland. It’s popular among many Cleveland photographers, and for good reason. It’s a dynamic area with great compositional elements. Rob and Lisa will be having their wedding in Strongsville and their wedding reception at The Club at Key Center ( St. Clair Ballroom )**
Rainy Engagement Session In Cleveland
It was a gray day for this photo session. It didn’t pour rain but there was a mist in the air. The rain held off enough for us to get some great pictures along East Fourth. Lisa and Rob were great sports and did a fantastic job of forgetting about the weather and just having fun. This is SO important if you want great wedding photos. That is why I have engagement sessions. I want my clients to be as relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera as they can be. The session enables us to get more natural photos and takes a bit of stress off of the bride and groom. If they can emote in public in front of my camera, their wedding day will be fantastic. I’m also able to educate them to my process which is helpful to them in relieving any uneasiness that they may have about pictures and their wedding day. It allows us to discuss their day and may sure that we are super prepared. Getting do know them during the process is helpful for me, as well.
Creative Engagement Pictures
One of my favorite pictures from their session involved a clothes dryer. You read that right. Someone in the apartments on E. 4th was doing their laundry. The dryer vent was spewing out steam since the hot air was hitting the much cooler air outside. Well, we HAD to use THAT! And, man, did these pictures work. I love being able to take advantage of opportunities that present themselves organically throughout a photo session. I think that it gives the pictures a bit more magic since they are authentic and real. No photoshop required.
I’m super excited for Rob and Lisa’s wedding. We will be spending a lot of time in downtown Cleveland for pictures on their wedding day. Here are a few of my favorites from the engagement session in downtown Cleveland.
