It was a cloudy, dreary day for David and Jillian’s engagement session in Peninsula, Ohio. They told me that a lot of their dates revolve around the outdoors so I could think of no better place to have their session than in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park area in the Merriman Valley.
Their first date was a hike in the Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas (Right?!). We didn’t do much hiking today but we did incorporate as much of the outdoors as we could. Being a cloudy, flat lit day, my challenge was to find interesting light with great textures for a background. The light was a challenge but there were great textures all around.
I always include an engagement session in my wedding service. This helps me get to know my clients better and gets them comfortable with me and with being in front of the camera. David and Jillian seem liked veterans in front of the camera. Letting them just “be” with each other was the best approach. I’m excited to be documenting there wedding this September. Their wedding reception at the Portage Country Club should be beautiful. Here are just a few of my favorites from the engagement session in Peninsula.
