Yesterday was Adam and Jordan’s wedding day. To say that I was honored to document this day is an understatement. I’ve know Jordan for, at least, half of her life, if not more. Jordan’s mom, Karen, is a professional photographer whom I’ve known and worked with for a long time. I was super excited (and nervous!) when they contacted me to book the wedding.
Destination Wedding
Their wedding was, essentially, a destination wedding. It took place in Peebles, Ohio southern Ohio, which is about 3-1/2 hours from Cleveland. I would have probably gone any distance for this one.
The day started with Adam getting ready at his parents house, where he grew up. His groomsmen were also there so this enabled us to get them interacting as well as some simple creative pictures.
I met Jordan at her hotel where she had her hair and make-up done. She was with her mom and sister which made it a very intimate start to her day. After some creative portraits at the hotel, it was off to the ceremony site where Adam and Jordan decided to see each other, or have a “first look” before their wedding ceremony. This was nice in that we could do all of the obligatory family pictures and some creative pictures before things got really hectic.
Great weather
It was a beautiful day, weather-wise, if not cloudy. The wedding ceremony was scheduled to take place outside so it was vital that we had good weather. I will utilize whatever light that the day throws at me but an overcast day is pretty easy to handle. Jordan also planned to have a first look with her dad which was one of many emotional moments during the day.
Here are a few of my favorites from the day leading up to that.
